Our story and values

Sally and Jason launched Camburg in 2017 having both pursued successful careers in large organisations to a senior level. They had worked together for several years and identified a need for a public services consultancy that enabled rapid change within client organisations by effectively engaging everyone involved.

Sally and Jason wanted to set up an organisation that reflected their values and approach to work. This has included fostering a sense of community so that clients and associates want to be part of Camburg. ‘It can’t just be about the money,’ Sally says.

Within a few months of setting Camburg up, Sally and Jason had secured two major NHS clients … and more work than they could manage alone. They started to assemble a cohort of Camburg associates.

‘We plundered our network for the very best people we had worked with over the years and who we felt would enjoy working with us and our clients.’  The associate list has continued growing and, today, around half Camburg’s associates were once clients including former chief executives and HR/OD directors.

The client list has also blossomed moving beyond the NHS to wider public services such as local authorities, national government bodies and the charity sector.  The rigours of the economic climate alongside government ambitions for a more productive public sector suggest the need for Camburg services will continue to grow. 

Sally identifies two key aspects of the Camburg style that will be in demand: empathy and trust. ‘We understand that even if the issues seem familiar, shifting economic and policy contexts means each client needs a unique approach to change. Our clients know they can trust us to deliver the outcomes they need, and to speak out when things aren’t working and help them get it right.’
